Pet Cryotherapy

To reduce tissue damage, discomfort, and edoema during the early stages of an injury (the first 72 hours), cryotherapy (application of cold) is utilized.

Cryotherapy

In veterinary dermatology, cryotherapy is used to treat a variety of skin conditions in dogs and cats, including benign and malignant tumors, warts, and certain inflammatory skin disorders. The process involves applying extremely cold temperatures to abnormal tissue, causing cell damage and destruction. It is commonly used for the removal of superficial skin growths, such as sebaceous adenomas, papillomas, or skin tags, and can also help manage conditions like granulomas or pyoderma. Cryotherapy is generally well-tolerated, offers a minimally invasive treatment option, and promotes faster healing with minimal scarring. However, careful technique is necessary to avoid damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
